Salome Has A Reason To Smile

Salome rises before dawn each day to finish her tasks around the house so she can spend the day working at Vunikavikaloa Arya School

The school was badly damaged during Tropical Cyclone Winston, and Red Cross along with local volunteers like Salome have been working to rebuild it.

Salome’s four oldest children have all attended the school, and her youngest is about to start. Salome is also a member of the school’s Disaster Risk Reduction team, a group that is helping ensure the school and community are prepared for any future disasters.

Now, she was happy to to see the results of her labour with the rebuilt school officially opened today.
